GO Topeka Launches Link Innovation Labs, Adding 17,000 Square Feet of Flexible Bioscience Space to Downtown

TOPEKA, Kan. (Mar. 3, 2026) — GO Topeka has officially opened Link Innovation Labs, a 17,000-square-foot innovation hub designed to accelerate bioscience startups, support early-stage research and strengthen Topeka’s position within the global animal health and agtech ecosystem.

Located in the heart of Topeka’s Innovation District, the new facility provides flexible office space, coworking areas, conference rooms, a dedicated pitch and event space, and — most notably — entry-level wet lab infrastructure tailored for emerging bioscience companies.

Expanding Early-Stage Lab Capacity

Link Innovation Labs includes BSL-1 and BSL-2 laboratory space, addressing a national shortage of accessible lab capacity for early-stage biotech startups. The facility is specifically designed to support companies advancing:

  • Alternative proteins
  • Pet therapeutics
  • Herd health technologies
  • AI-enabled biosecurity solutions

The space functions as a commercialization on-ramp for founders who require compliant laboratory infrastructure to scale research and development efforts without relocating to traditional coastal biotech hubs.

Seven international biotech startups recently relocated to Topeka through Plug and Play’s accelerator program, underscoring the region’s growing global profile in animal health innovation.

With lab space constraints impacting established biotech markets nationwide, Link Innovation Labs reflects a broader strategy to decentralize life sciences infrastructure and create new R&D pathways in emerging innovation regions.

Strengthening Topeka’s Role in the Animal Health Corridor

The launch reinforces Topeka’s momentum within the nationally recognized Animal Health Corridor and supports continued growth across agtech, biotech and advanced manufacturing sectors.

“Link Innovation Labs represents a bold investment in Topeka’s future,” said Stephanie Moran, SVP of Innovation for GO Topeka. “This space was designed to connect innovators with the right partners, help them build scalable businesses and launch the next generation of solutions that will drive economic growth in our region.”

Molly Howey, CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership, emphasized the project’s long-term economic development impact.

“By creating a space where entrepreneurs, researchers and industry leaders can collaborate, we are strengthening Topeka’s position as a place where innovation, talent and business thrive,” Howey said.

Designed for Collaboration and Commercialization

Beyond lab space, Link Innovation Labs features:

  • A dedicated Pitch Room for competitions, presentations and workshops
  • An executive boardroom
  • Two conference rooms
  • A hot-desk coworking area accommodating up to 10 users

The facility is part of GO Topeka’s broader strategy to strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, support company formation and expansion, and generate high-quality job growth throughout Shawnee County.
